Panda and Hedgehog

This drama was all over the place. I had no idea what was happening in the begining, and i had to look up episode summaries. I wasnt entirely with the story line until the very end, and even then i must have missed a few important details. The main girl lead, Pan Da Yang, was no necessarily someone I liked. She was no easy, desperate, or anything like that, but she did rely on other peoples money more than I liked. She also got angry over simple things, and she would start saying things taht didnt even make sense. I couldnt keep upwith her logic. The main guy lead Seung-Ji was very cool. He knew exaclty how to act to be exactly the kind of guy a girl falls for. He was cute too, and he cried. is relationship with his grandfather was something for the memory. He went to jail at one point in his life, but he felt bad about it andwas afraid to tell pan da when he fell for her. His grandfather was a character, he cared so much for the guy and really clarified some things.

Anyway, this drama was about a girl who hires a new chef for her parents bakery, then her childhood friend who was also a baker came back from america. The relationships in this were kind of weird, alot that happened was unrealistic, and there was this weird woman who would just grab a piece of cake and eat it despite people needing it for something (to be fair she onlydid it once, but i cant get the ridiculousness of it out of my head). Pa da's childhood friend is a wimp. Anyway, the plot seems shallow on the surface for a while until you find out about this song that the three of them sing about bugs. You find out about the history of this song, about this missing person named min woo, and the reason why pan da's father built the bakery in the first place.

Sometimes I have a hard time writing these reviews because I'm trying to write things that will help me remember what I watched instead of explaining to other people. What i really remmember about this drama was little snipets like the cute relationship between the min guy and his grandfather. I remmember the bug song as a code for something else. I remmember the scene when Seung-ji asks pan da's childhood friend not to tell his grandfather something, and then the flashback from when they were kids. I remmember the childhood friend getting upset that Pan da kept calling Seung-ji her buisness partner, and how he said "my mom did the same thing with my step-father" or something like that. I remmember the childhood friend finally eating cake for the first time (he wouldnt becuase of asecret that is intricately put in with the rest of the secrets). I remmber loving the childhood friend's sister, she was so spunky, loving, and tom-boyish. I remmember the main character saying she would accept Seung-ji no matter what. I did love her for that, if not for anything else. I remmember them going for a date and he didnt know what to do with her so he tried to teach her to drive, which ended in the car getting stolen. I remmeber the former baker vandalising their bakery alot, and then you find out he has a son, and aww I loved his son. I loved the ending, when they are sitting on the bench together and the song comes on, favorite part ever, loved it, perfect. Bravo!

However, I also remmember thinking that nobody seemed to be working all that hard. I thought the main lead girl was random and couldnt figure out why the main guy leads liked her.I remmember thinking also that they were getting nowhere with their work because other people kept stealing the patissier's work.  What else can I say? it was a good drama, but not to personal taste level.

My Girl

Okay, so My girl is about a girl who is very poor because her father gambles their money away a lot. She becomes a tour guide more than once in this movie, which is cool. Of course there is this guy, and his grandfather is dying. His grandfather is dying wish is to see his granddaughter who went missing in some earthquake in japan. So the guy goes looking for his long lost cousin, and when he can't find her, he decides to use some random girl instead. He finds Yoo-rin who is in desperate need for money. She also picks all of his clementines at one point...

So this guy, (his name is gong-chan by the way) hires yoo-rin. When his grandfather thinks he has met his beautiful granddaughter, he makes a miraculous recovery, and now the two of them are stuck in this lie. I should also mention that Yoo-rin knows many different languages, and has traveled a lot with her father. Her fathers runs away all the time. This girl is a bit of a swindler, but she has a limit, and certain morals to the things she does. For instance, she picked all of gong-chan's clementines and sold them on the street, but she wrote his a thank you note and...there was something that made it okay but I cant remember. Anyway, the grandfather learns to love Yoo-rin to death, and she is feeling really guilty but gong-chan promises that this charade is only going to last until he can find his real cousin.

They fall in love. If this fact is a surprise to you then you are a little too oblivious about Korean dramas. ( can i just go over a few Korean drama necessities real quick?) There is always a balcony scene, always a scene where one of the characters is watching the other sleep, there is always a kiss scene, there is always a shopping scene/make-over scene...anyway back to where I was...

One thing that I thought was a cute touch to this story is that yoo-rin didn't know her real birthday, so her father and her joked that her birthday was whenever it snowed. As a result of telling gong-chan, he started buying snow globes for her whenever it snowed. This girl who loved gong-chan found out about the whole "fake cousin" thing and told the grandfather, who was so hurt by the situation that he threw yoo-rin out telling her never to come back. The real cousin was found. Yoo-rin and gong-chan were both separated....SPOILER....

SPOILER: There is a twist though, it seems that yoo-rin's no good father actually saved the real cousin's life. So everything works out.

I thought Gong-chan was cute, I thought their relationship was good. Yoo-rin was also loved by Gong-chan's friend who was a playboy. She got a home and expensive gifts from her fake family. She really learned to love them. Her lying was eventually used to show her sincerity in the end. Good show, but personal taste is still my favorite.

Heartstrings

I watched this drama because I saw a comment by someone that it was really good, and they were right. I liked this drama aloot. At first the main guy lead reminded my of the guy from playful kiss so I didnt think I would like it, but once you got to know him it was different. He was actually really nice, and I found myself liking him alot.

So heres the story: the girl is a traditional music major, and he is in some rock band. THey get off on the wrong foot, mostly becuase he is arrogant and she doesnt take the crap. Well, then she loses a bet and has to be his slave for a while. She ends up getting him coffee every morning. The poor guy gets his heart broken from someone. There was a point in the story where I didnt like the main girl lead because she seemed almost pitiful, but then Lee Gyu Won decided to get over the main guy,  Lee Shin. She sang a song about getting over him (ironically enough, he pretty much fell in love with her when she sang it). There was alot of singing as you can imagine. The kisss scene was amazing because of the music.

Lee gye won, lives with her funy grandfather who tries to get people to listen to his lives sotry whenever he can (which became a punishment more than once).

Lee guy won had a friend named Bo Oong who keeps walking in when the couple is together and ruining the atmosphere. It was funny, Lee shin eventually learned when she was coming. There is also this weird character who can't stop eating.

How do you explain a show that makes you fall in love with the character, makes you want to spin around in circles, and which touches your heart so easily? I just really liked this drama. It was easier to watch than many of the others that are really full of dramatic details. It was just a plain nice drama. The begining was not as great as the middle, and hardly as good as the end (though they rushed in some drama in the last episode which was just a little annoying).

I loved him, and I loved her, and I loved this drama.
I loved the music.
I loved their expressions.
I loved the feel this drama gave me.

you've fallen for me

Prosecuter Princess

Okay, so this Drama is about a girl who is pretty much spoiled. She loves fashion, has all the accessories and shoes she could ever want. However, this girl is also very smart, she has a photographic memory, and because of that she was able to become a prosecutor very easily. SHe gets a job, but she is so lazy taht nobody wants to teach her. Ma Hye Ri meets this guy (who is very cute) and they fall in love. This guy is not as innocent or kind as he seems though, I actually hated him at one point, and I mean that, I HATED HIM. LIke most dramas though, the people who directed it know how to put him back into your favor, and I started liking him again. When the secret comes out though, and you find out how he was using her and what he was doing to her, well, just be prepared to feel alot of hatred towards him.

Having said that there were alot of moments that were really nice in this. He always showed up when she needed help or was feeling upset (yes there was a hidden reason behind it, but still) I like to think he meant some of it. There was a part of the show when they lived next to eachother and he gave her thinks by using a fishing rod with a bucket on the end, I liked that little touch. He was the only guy who encouraged her to eat, even after he found out she used to be fat. He taught her how to cook raman noodles. He bought her appartment once she moved out :( There were these coupons they had, and to make up for some favor they did they would get a coupon saying "i will come to you once when you need me no matter what." There was a moment when he kissed her that was more amazing than normal dramas, and this is me saying that, so it really is amazing. She is just like "say sorry" and then he kissed her, just awesome. He carried her on his back, but that happens in EVERY drama, still, its cute enough that its a must. He bought her appliances for her apartment, also cute.

The whole time, Ma hye ri is in love with this "other guy" who is just annoying because he cant say anything that is on his mind. You have no idea wht he feel about her or anyone else! Granted, his wife died, but still, he's jsut so closed off.

What I enjoyed most about this drama is that there was a good reason for how the main character acted the way she did. Its easy to just say she was a little spoiled or lazy, but then to put soemthing behind all of that, which makes you understand and care about her as a person makes it the story and masterpiece it is (not that I am saying this is a complete masterpiece or anything). She was fat, her mother promised her anything, her father was strict, forced her to do things she didnt want to do. Can I just say? the mother was a whimp, she couldnt stand up for herself or for anything against the father.

There was a trial when she was a persecuter about a girl who had been sexually assaulted, and it was a very light hearted situation in comparison to the USA type of shows that we have. She got to the heart of the child by dancing, aw the poor kid, all for violin lessons.

Lie to Me

This drama was about a girl who says she is married to this guy so people won't bug her about her personal life. Rumors start to spread, and he finds out about it. Eventually he goes along with the ruse though. They fall in love, but you probably understand that by now.

Honestly? I watched this drama a while ago, I dont really remember it except that I really liked it. The guy was really strict, she was really funny, their chemistry was really great. I was going to write a review about this after I watched it, but as what usually happens to me, I didnt.

for fun

awww

Gotta love OSTs

I really need to watch this again...

My Name is Kim Sam Soon

This Drama is about a girl named Kim Sam Soon who hates her name. She is a baker, and her boyfriend breaks up with her one day. She gets a job at a resturant called Bon Apetit (really original) and she makes a contract to pretent to be the preident's boyfriend if she can have the 50 million won that can save her home from being taken. As you can imagine, they fall in love. The president, Hyun Jin Hun, is very funny. There is something about his eyes which just make you want to laugh sometimes, he is sneaky and playful. At the same time he is demanding, and a little violent. He has a back story like characters have to have in these dramas, and it is a depressing sob story. They fought alot, which was entertaining. I liked the story, but I was really annoyed that Kim Sam Soon always had to give in to him, and that he was just so insensitive to her at times. The food in it made me hungry :(

There was this "other woman" in this drama who just got into everything. I'm not going to say that I hated her but she was selfish and annoying in a way that wasnt direct. She apparently left him for an important reason (idk if I should give it away) when she came back she just expected eveything to be normal after leaving for years and not talking to him. She brought with her this guy from the USA who spoke english, and I have to say listening seak english was hilarious, mostly because they empasised words at the wrong time, and spoke slowly and in a way that was just not american in any way and more korean than anything. There was a quote having to do with her that said "memorys dont have any strength, but they never do away."

Hyun Jin Hun had a niece named...I think its something like ma joon? and the little girl was adorable, and smiled all the time, though she never spoke. I was so excited to see her speak, for the last few eposodes i paid really close attention. Usually in Dramas there is just a heart wrenching moment when these things do happen, but I didnt think that when ma joon spoke they picked the right time or the right words. I loved her relationship with everyone though, so cute.

Kim Sam Soon was a better character in the begining when she didnt take any crap from anyone, just saying. I loved when he father showed up and they talked, he was dead but still.

It was entertaining, but if I'm putting it on a scale from hate to personal taste, it was probably closer to nuetral. I admit though, I loved Kim Sam Soon's mother to death, she was hilarious, protective, and just plain loveable no matter what she said or what she was doing. I didnt like that the movie stressed Kim Sam Soon as being old or fat, because she was only chubby in asian standards and she only looked old by asian standards, which means she was neither.
